The Living Hope Cancer Foundation team is heading to Venice, Italy where we’ll start our ride on October 1, 2025. Over the next two weeks, our group will ride through Italy, and along the way, share love, guidance and hope for people affected by cancer and their families. The ride will run through October 15th, when we arrive in Puglia, Italy.
It’s our mission and calling to reach as many people as possible and inspire them to “Get Up and Live!”

ERIC LIVINGSTONE

I’m Eric Livingstone, the founder of Highway 2 Heal — a cycling-based movement rooted in personal loss, healing through action, and raising awareness for communities affected by cancer.
In 2016, I lost my wife to cancer. In the years that followed, I struggled deeply with grief, guilt, and the quiet but crushing weight of trying to be everything for my young son, Eliya. It wasn’t until I saw a note he wrote during therapy — “I miss my mommy, and I miss my daddy” — that I realized I wasn’t just grieving. I was absent. I needed to stop hiding in work and start healing.
That was my wake-up call. And it changed my life.
I left my career and began riding — literally and figuratively — toward something better. That journey became Highway 2 Heal, a mission to connect surviving caregivers, celebrate youth resilience, and remind us all that movement is medicine.
Since 2021, I’ve ridden thousands of miles to raise funds and awareness for Camp Kesem — a national nonprofit supporting children whose parents have cancer. My son is now 16, thriving, and a seven-time Kesem camper. These rides are about him — and all the kids like him — who deserve to heal in a community that understands their grief.
Now, I’m honored to bring Highway 2 Heal to Italy this October, riding alongside GetUpAndLive.org, whose mission perfectly aligns with mine:
To turn pain into purpose, movement into meaning, and grief into action.
Together, we’re riding to:
• Raise awareness for families affected by cancer and trauma
• Champion movement as a pathway to healing and reconnection
• Inspire survivors and caregivers across the world to reclaim their strength, breath by breath, pedal by pedal
We’re currently seeking sponsorships to help fund our team’s travel, lodging, gear, and media support — and to amplify this movement across platforms. Your support will not only fuel this ride, it will help us spread a message of hope far beyond the hills of Italy.
